The format of the oral exam is described below:

• 3- 45 minute sessions
  • one focused on general neurosurgery
  • one on the focus area of the candidates choosing
  • one reviewing candidates own cases
• Candidates are not permitted to bring a laptop. The two examiners will each have a laptop with the questions displayed on a screen, visable to the candidate
• In each 45 minute session, 5 questions will be covered
  • Each case should take an average of 9 minutes to review; some take longer (like in the video) and others shorter
